BSB41419 Certificate IV Work Health and Safety Training Course

This qualification applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification applies to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters.

What I will learn?

  • Certificate IV Work Health and Safety is designed to train you in how to identify workplace health and safety hazards, assess and control risks, ensure compliance with current legislation and consult on WHS issues. No matter your needs, we have the course to suit you.

    The following skills and knowledge:
    √ Understand the role and responsibilities of a Supervisor and your role in providing safe service to the community.
    √ Assist with providing advice about the legislative duties, rights and obligations of individuals and parties prescribed in work health and safety (WHS) legislation.
    √ Contribute to identifying work health and safety (WHS) hazards, assessing WHS risks, and developing, implementing and evaluating risk controls according to legislative and organisational requirements.
    √ Assist with the work health and safety (WHS) management of contractors
    √ Learn to communicate relevant information, identify and deliver related training and improve consultation and participation processes.
    √ Understand the processes of implementation and maintenance of a Work Health and Safety management system (WHSMS).
    √ Assist with actions and activities performed in response to work health and safety (WHS) incidents which includes accidents.
    √ Monitor a range of physical agents and conditions relevant to work health and safety (WHS).

Course Particulars

  • Unit of Competency: Upon Completion Each Participant will receive a Qualification of BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work health and Safety with the following units:
  • 1. BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
    2. MSS403053 Map an operational process
    3. BSBWHS418 Assist with managing WHS compliance of contractors
    4. BSBSTR402 Implement continuous improvement
    5. BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
    6. BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
    7. BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
    8. BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response
    9. BSBWHS419 Contribute to implementing WHS monitoring processes
    10. BSBWHS417 Assist with managing WHS implications of return to work.
  • The Qualification will be issued by The Management Edge RTO 3927 within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.
    The units of competency listed above are current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.
  • Delivery Mode: 1 Day a week for 10 weeks Face to Face or Online over 12 months
